Contactless Payments
Merchant Warehouse Now Offers Contactless Payments for Credit Card Processing
June 19, 2006 – Merchant Warehouse, Boston-based provider of credit card equipment and processing services, today announced the launch of contactless payment terminals available through our website.
Contactless payment terminals have rapidly become part of the present and future of credit card transactions. Also known as "tap and pay", contactless payment provides benefits to both retailers and consumers, particularly in the areas of speed and convenience. Transactions occur as a customer waves or taps their card to the terminal, rather than handing a credit card to a cashier and signing an authorization slip.
Merchant Warehouse begins its launch with the Saturn 5000 terminal, manufactured by OTI. Merchants with credit card terminals can utilize the "plug-and-play" design, which provides for a quick and seamless upgrade, without disrupting business activities. Contactless payment terminals are most beneficial for retailers whose average ticket is under $25.00 and for those who truly rely on efficiency and speed in transaction times, such as quick service restaurants, convenience stores, and drug stores / pharmacies.
"We are very excited to introduce contactless payment solutions to our merchants", said Henry Helgeson, President of Merchant Warehouse. "The speed, convenience, and faster transaction times will help facilitate greater consumer loyalty at the respective retail outlet who integrates contactless payments".
