Merchant Warehouse President Appears in ComputerWorld Magazine
Merchant Warehouse’s Henry Helgeson, President and Co-CEO, provided Computerworld with commentary on the Heartland Payment Systems data breach.
Helgeson explained that everyone in the processing industry is dying to find out more information about the breach. He said that if this is a new attack, Merchant Warehouse and other processing companies need to know, and need to know if it can happen to them. Helgeson also provided insight into the impact this breach will have on the industry by saying the cost of reissuing over 100 million cards would be far more than any credit card fraud that is likely to result from the compromise. Helgeson estimated that the overall cost of replacing the cards would be anywhere from $600 million to $1 billion.
